You and Your Scooter: Riding Tips

by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)

  1. Refer to your owner’s manual for instructions on breaking in your scooter properly.

If our technician determines that damage to parts has resulted from breaking in your scooter improperly, it could void our personal guarantee to you as well as the manufacturer’s warranty.
  2. Winterize your bike properly!

Ask an associate how to winterize your bike so that the battery does not go bad (we will not replace batteries that have gone bad over the winter as a result of improper care). You can purchase a charger for a very reasonable price that will prevent this problem. You should also drain the gasoline from your bike when it is not being used.
  3. Use premium gasoline!

Anything else can ruin several components of your scooter, including (but not limited to) the fuel filter, pit cock and carburetor. If our technician determines that you have used the incorrect fuel, it could void our guarantee as well as the manufacturer’s warranty.
